Place in a bright location, avoid direct sunlight indoors. Some sun is fine when grown outdoors.
Temperature
Moderate home temperatures are ideal: 65-70°F daytimes and 60-65°F nights. Avoid excessively hot or cold temperatures.

Prefers moderately moist soil. Water thoroughly when soil surface feels dry to the touch. Remove wrap or decor before watering. Drain off all excess water. Do not allow plants to stand in water.

Care
Gerberas require an unusual combination of bright light and moderate temperatures. A spot near a sunny window might be too hot and can scorch the leaves, but without adequate light, the plant won’t produce blooms. Bright sunlight in the AM works well, but be sure the plant is protected from full sunlight in the afternoon. Water the plant deeply whenever the top inch of soil is feeling dry to the touch. Check soil often to maintain consistent soil moisture. Best to take off wrap/container and place in a sink before watering to allow it to drain from the bottom of the pot. Once pot has drained, replace to to original spot. Pinch off blooms as soon as they wilt to keep the plant neat and compact and to stimulate more blooms.

Gerberas do best outdoors in a hot climate but planted in shade. Ensure that the crown of the plant-the point where the main stem meets the roots-is slightly above ground level, because covering the crown may cause the plant to suffocate. Water the plant regularly during the blooming season and allow the top soil and the crown to dry before the next watering.
